Justice Summit

By on March 30th, 2017

Justice Summit 2017 is a contending prayer and worship-fueled gathering with a three-fold focus: to encounter Jesus as the Man of Justice, to contend for the in-breaking of Christ-exalting justice across Florida and the Southeast, and to equip emerging leaders with biblical and practical tools to understand and sustain long-term laborers of justice.

40 DAYS OF PRAYER & FASTING | UNTIL NOVEMBER 8, 2016

This prayer guide will help to focus our prayers as we are in 40 days of prayer and fasting for America. Use this guide in your prayer times this week.

Jesus is the only answer to our nation’s problems. A Great Awakening is the only answer to a nation that has gone away from its biblical roots. No politician has the answers for our nation, but we must pray for godly leadership in every position of authority. We must cry out for another Jesus Movement to sweep across out nation and people turn to the Lord. The Word says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12).

Personal and corporate repentance

Before we begin in intercession, it’s good to inspect our own hearts and come clean before the Lord. Take time to confess and repent to God of any sins in your life. Then, from a national perspective, repent for rejecting God as a nation, and for the removal of God in our education systems and government.

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.” Ps. 51:1-3 (NKJ)

Intercession topic for this week: Government & Military

GOVERNMENT

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV)

  • Pray for President Obama, Vice President Biden, and the Cabinet members for wisdom, discernment and guidance from the Lord. Pray for their spouses and family members.
  • Pray for the next President and Vice President that will be elected on Nov. 8th, for pro-life, pro-family, pro-Israel leaders to be elected.
  • Pray that our leaders have God’s strategies as they deal with world leaders on difficult issues that effort the entire world (Israel, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, Pakistan and other countries).
  • Pray for that any terrorists’ plots will be uncovered and stopped. Pray that ISIS is defeated.
  • Pray for members of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. Pray for them to vote for pro- family, pro-life, pro-Israel legislation. Pray for members who know the Lord to be strengthened and those who don’t to be saved. Pray for their spouses, families and staff.
  • Pray that our leaders to stand up for religious liberties and freedom in this nation. Christianity is increasingly under attack. Pray for members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus who are fighting for religious freedom in our Nation’s Capitol and Legislative Prayer Caucuses in the states that are taking a stand for religious freedom.
  • Pray for the U.S. Supreme Court Justices to not legislate laws but to interpret them correctly and to vote in favor of restricting abortion and eventually overturning Roe v Wade. Pray that the next U.S. Supreme Court Justices and FL Supreme Court Justices that are appointed will be pro-life, pro-family justices.
  • Pray for Governor Rick Scott, Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Cabinet Members, Agency Heads, all state, county and city leaders for wisdom, discernment and guidance from the Lord and do what is right before God.
  • Pray for Florida Senate President and members of the FL Senate and Florida Speaker of the FL House and Members of the FL House of Representatives. Pray for them to vote for pro-family, pro-life legislation; for those who know the Lord to be strengthened and those who don’t to be saved. Pray for their spouses, families and staff.
  • Pray for the Florida Supreme Court Justices to not legislate laws but to interpret them correctly and have wisdom.
  • Pray that any seats that open on the FL Supreme Court to be filled with pro-life, pro-family justices.
  • Pray for anything done in darkness to be exposed by the light of the Holy Spirit.
  • Pray for leaders to have reverence for and fear of the Lord and to fight for religious freedom in this nation.
  • Pray for government leaders to publicly acknowledge their sin and dependence on God.
  • Pray for godly, pro-family, pro-life leaders to be elected in 2016 to city, state and national positions of government.
  • Pray for all members of law enforcement and emergency responders for protection and strength. Pray for their families. Pray for families who have lost their loved ones in the line of duty.

MILITARY

“The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” Psalm 34:7 (NKJ)
“Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend me from those who rise up against me.” Psalm 59:1 (NKJ)

  • Pray for protection for our men and women in uniform, for strength and for their minds to stay clear and their spirits to be uplifted.
  • Pray for our military leaders to have wisdom, discernment, and insight into the enemies’ activities as they fight terrorism in our country, around the world and in the Middle East. Wisdom to defeat ISIS.
  • Pray for the President, for the Secretary of Defense, and for the Joint Chiefs of Staff that God will guide them and give them military strategies.
  • Pray for the spouses and families of those in the military for strength, protection, and endurance as they wait the return of their loved ones, and for God’s provision and protection. Pray for those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.
  • Pray for the troops to have hope, peace, and God’s comfort as they fight for our freedom and the freedom of others around the world.
  • Pray for those who don’t know the Lord to be saved and those that are saved in the military to boldly share Him with others.
  • Pray for military chaplains to boldly pray in Jesus’ name with the troops and not be reprimanded.

Government & the National Election: November 8, 2016

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn”. Proverbs 29:2(KJV)
“He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.” 2 Samuel 23:3 (NKJ)
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” 1 Timothy 2:1-3 (NJKV)

There is a vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court that must be filled and possibly 3 more Justices that the next president will appoint. This election will be felt for generations because of the U.S. Supreme Court. Pray over the Court.
  • Pray that a strong pro-life, pro-family majority is elected to the U.S. Senate, this is imperative to seeing righteous laws passed.
  • Pray for pro-life, pro-family leaders to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
  • Pray that throughout Florida and the nation that pro-life, pro-family leaders will be elected at all levels of government. Florida has some very tight races and we must intercede for strong pro-life leaders to win.

Swing States: Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, and Wisconsin, Arizona and Georgia (the last 2 states aren’t traditional swing states).

  • Pray that Americans will have the ability to see truth, to vote for righteous values and leaders.
  • Pray for accuracy in the voting machines across the nation and proper tabulation of votes.

  • Pray for the Upcoming Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates:
    • Vice presidential debate (October 4, 2016, Longwood University, Farmville, VA). The debate will be divided into nine time segments of approximately 10 minutes each. The moderator will ask an opening question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.
    • Second presidential debate (October 9, 2016, Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO). The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which half of the questions will be posed directly by citizen participants and the other half will be posed by the moderator based on topics of broad public interest as reflected in social media and other sources. The candidates will have two minutes to respond and there will be an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate further discussion. The town meeting participants will be uncommitted voters selected by the Gallup Organization.
    • Third presidential debate (October 19, 2016, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV). The format for the debate will be identical to the first presidential debate that was held on September 26, 2016 at Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY. The debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator and announced at least one week before the debate. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.

Looking back on testimonies of answered prayer, we believe for what’s ahead in America

I have been a governmental intercessor for 25 years, standing in the gap for our country. I began to truly intercede for the nation when I had my fourth child; today, with four grandchildren, I am still standing in the gap for America and training young intercessors.

Many battles have been won and some lost. Our job as intercessors is to stay steady, stand firm, and never, ever give up! Sometimes this is easier said than done. When you watch the news and it seems like you’re losing, you have to learn to declare the Word of the Lord, realize you’re in a long-term battle, and not grow weary.

I want to share some stories of governmental intercession that I hope will give encouragement in the midst of the battles we are facing right now as a nation.

Their time in Mexico was spent at the VenPronto Casa De Oraćion (Come Quickly House of Prayer), teaching a young adult internship of around 45 interns about the biblical topics of contending intercession, prayer, worship, and the Great Commission.

How to maximize your time with God

By on April 8th, 2015

The times we spend with God are the most important moments of our lives. Reading the Word and praying are essential disciplines we should all aim for. It’s how we know God. Given the importance of this time, it should be a priority to maximize our time with God.

The funny thing is, whenever I want to spend time with God is when I am generally the most distracted. And tired. It almost never fails to happen: I sit on the bed, open the Bible…and I’m out cold. It’s like a Bible-reading narcolepsy.

But really, if the time we spend with God is the one of the primary ways to know God, why wouldn’t the devil do all he can to distract, confuse, or disrupt this time of meeting? And how can we practically fight to keep this time?

Until the Nations Sing of His Worth

By on March 16th, 2015

For the past 9 years, I’ve been blessed to be a part of missional communities of prayer, seeking to establish a culture of unceasing prayer and worship that extols the greatness and worth of the Godhead 24/7. Like David, we believe that “God is great and greatly to be praised” (Ps. 145:3) and that His promises are still alive and powerful and waiting to be fulfilled at the end of the age. These promises warrant the Church’s response of contending intercession, “reminding” God of His promises until He sends them like fire upon the earth (Is. 62:6-7).

Just as it was in the early church, many young adults today are committing themselves to serve God in prayer rooms across the earth. Primarily, they are committing to standing before the Lord in worship, to gazing upon His beauty and contending in intercession for the burdens of God’s heart, and to laying down their lives in simple obedience that Jesus would receive the reward of His suffering in all nations.

Florida Abortions Fall 19% – A History of Answered Prayer

By on June 11th, 2012
Posted in Articles
A little over a week ago, Sunshine State News reported that the abortion rate in Florida has dropped a staggering 19% from 2008 to 2011, and that downward trend is continuing this year. Though there are many dynamics attributed to this outcome, we believe this is an answer to an orchestrated effort of focused, unyielding intercession from thousands of believers in this state.

While this massive answer to prayer is God’s response to many believers who have not relented in their appeals to the courts of heaven, this post is a brief prophetic history of our efforts in praying and laboring for the ending of abortion in Florida capital city, Tallahassee.

In 2007, we started a Bound4LIFE chapter and began praying at the Florida Supreme Court. Around 7 months later in 2008, we participated in Bound4LIFE’s nation-wide prayer meeting called The Mercy Seat, where 6,200 gathered to pray at every Supreme Court in the nation simultaneously. Nearly 600 residents joined us throughout the 7 hour solemn assembly outside of the Florida Supreme Court, pleading Jesus’ blood and praying for God’s mercy to turn to our state.

We often don’t understand that the timeline of intercession is commonly answered in years. At the end of 2009, Gallup Poll released this shocking data: a majority of Americans identified themselves as pro-life for the first time in over a decade. This unprecedented shift in opinion began sometime after (or during) The Mercy Seat.

This isn’t coincidence. This is power through prayer.
